On July 5th, The Israel Diamond Institute (IDI) is launching its strategic campaign focusing on the Chinese diamond market. It will include ceremonies, an office opening and the launch of the IDI portal (www.israelidiamond.co.il/cn) in Mandarin.
The weeklong series of events will start with a formal launch at the Israeli Embassy in Beijing, the inauguration of the IDI Chinese Portal at the Shanghai Diamond Exchange and the opening of IDI Asia Pacific Ltd in Hong Kong.
Further down the line, the IDI plans on participating in local trade shows and developing media activities.
The campaign is being launched after a six-month strategic planning process, during which IDI identified, researched and explored future marketing directions for The Israeli Diamond Industry.
“The Chinese economy is undergoing historical changes of fast-paced growth and the emergence of a strong consumer market,” IDI Chairman Moti Ganz said.
According to IDI Managing Director Eli Avidar, “China represents the future of The Israeli Diamond Industry.”
The Israeli diamond industry wants to develop its presence in the country and is doing so with the understanding that it must do so in Chinese.
The IDI portal in Chinese, the first diamond portal in the language, is a business marketplace for contacts. It offers a search engine for locating Israeli diamond companies by type of goods, a ‘Diamond Needs Board’ with a real-time alert system, industry news and information on how to do business with Israel. The site address is www.israelidiamond.co.il/cn.
IDI has expanded its trade show participation to five shows annually: two trade fairs in Hong Kong, and one each in Shanghai, Shenzhen and Macau.
