2007 Hong Kong International Jewelry Show opened on March 6. Various luxurious jewelry will be displayed by 2,180 exhibitors from 41 countries and regions exhibitors in five days. The number of exhibitors is maximum on record.
The Chairman of the Advisory Committee of TDC, Mr. Chen Shengze said, last year jewelry and precious metals exports is 3.7 billion U.S. dollars, increased 13%. And it is estimated that it will also maintain double-digit growth this year. Last year, exports to the mainland is increased 50%. Due to the mainland's economic development and appreciation of the RMB revaluation, the mainland is expected to replace the United States to become the largest market.
The exhibition consists of 21 section, including Belgium, China mainland, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines and Singapore. Two new product areas are set up this year, "antique and classic jewelry" pavilion is designed to meet the needs of purchasers of nostalgia. "Jade Jewelry" show will encompass various jade jewelry.
This year security measures are strengthened in the exhibition. Each booth is connected to the police by direct telephone line, and security guard spreads over the exhibition.
