Current administration systems for diamond import & export in China

 From June 1, 2002, Chinese governments start the implementation of centralized administration over diamond import & export.

• Effective as of June 1, 2002, diamond import & export under normal trade is subject to the declaration procedures with SDE Customs. All other Customs shall not handle import & export declarations of diamonds falling under the above category.

• Diamond imported under processing trade is not subject to centralized administration, but domestic sale of diamond imported under processing trade (including diamond jewellery) is subject to the declaration procedures with SDE Customs.

• Diamond import and export in the form of petty frontier trade is prohibited.

• Documents related to tax refund for diamond export shall be solely handled by SDE Customs.

Import & export of diamond jewellery is not subject to centralized administration
