About DAC

Diamond Administration of China (simplified as DAC) was officially established in April 2000. Approved by the State Council of the People's Republic of China , DAC is a government institution co-sponsored by Ministry of Commerce, Customs General Administration, Foreign Exchange General Administration, Industrial & Commercial General Administration and Quality Supervision General Administration.

With the authorization of Ministry of Commerce, DAC is a government institution in charge of the supervision on Shanghai Diamond Exchange (SDE) and the inspection on diamond import and export under normal trade.

The functions of DAC also include:

• Examine and verify the Constitution of SDE, the transaction rules and procedures.

• Supervise SDE to observe relevant laws, regulations and rules as well as the constitution of SDE, the transaction rules and procedures; put on file the members of the supervision council of SDE, the senior executives and the transaction records of SDE.

• Coordinate with relevant policies.
